Call for interest: ENeL/PARSEME Workshop

ENeL has been collaborating closely with the Parseme COST action (http://typo.uni-konstanz.de/parseme/), PARSing and Multi-word Expressions.
A joint workshop is planned for the 5-6 April 2016 in Skopje, FYR Macedonia, just before PARSEME’s general meeting in Struga.

The objective is to look for synergies between our two communities, and in particular to:
– understand how lexicographers organize MWEs in dictionaries and lexicons and what their software needs are,
– understand how NLP tools and applications can benefit from MWE lexicons,
– draft specifications of an ideal lexicographic software,
– draft specifications of an ideal MWE lexicon usable in NLP applications.
The drafted specifications will be made publicly available. We are also planning a joint publication based on the results of the workshop.

See the event’s page for more details:
http://www.elexicography.eu/events/workshops/parsemeenel-skopje-2016/

We can fund travel and stay for 10 workshop participants from each of the two actions. If you are interested, please, submit an application at: https://goo.gl/dxNZxI until Friday 11 December 2015 at latest. Participants who can contribute their data containing MWEs for the workshop are particularly welcome. A highly multilingual setting of  the workshop will be strongly promoted.

In order make the workshop effective, readings will be distributed to the selected participants before the workshop. Selected participants will be notified in December.

If you cannot come to the workshop but you have precise ideas about how an ideal NLP-usable MWE lexicon should look like, please, send them directly to us. In this way you can remotely contribute to the workshop outcomes.

Looking forward to a successful and fruitful workshop!
